Martyn Mensah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic
Engineering from the University of Bath (U.K), an MBA and a Diploma in Management from Imperial College, London. He is a management professional with a passion for strategy, business improvement, leadership, innovation and brand building. Over a career spanning some 30 years, he has accumulated a wealth of knowledge in the theory and practice of management across the world.
In addition to vast experience in working at the strategic level with a variety of organizations, Martyn has a strong track record of hands-on management, and it is this that combines with his knowledge of management theory to make him a n effective business leader and advisor to multi-national corporations, start- ups and high potential businesses, whose teams he has worked with to transform them into highly successful, sector defining companies.
Martyn has led or has been instrumental in the development, growth and transformation of a number of companies in Africa. He has led and/or advised companies in the service, manufacturing, finance, agri-business, education, media and technology sectors. A few years ago, he was ranked 3rd on the PwC list of Ghana’s Most Respected CEO’s, which is decided by a poll of peer Chief Executives. He has deep experience of working with owner-managers/founders of high potential companies, and he uses this experience to guide their companies through the pitfalls and complexities of the various stages of their growth curves.
He is a member of Court, one of the two governing bodies of his alma mater, Imperial College. He tries to give back to society through the not-for-profit organizations whose boards he serves on, including the Zawadi Foundation for needy but brilliant girls and the Cardinal Turkson Fund for Health and Education. He remains a partner of the management consulting that he founded over 15 years ago. He also serves on the Investment Committee of a Ghanaian multi-sector venture capital fund that looks to build African businesses with social and economic impact, and to deliver sustainable value to both its investors and partners. He is a member of the Institute of Directors in Ghana and the United Kingdom and a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. He is an accredited Denison Organizational Culture (DOC®) facilitator.
